I’ve Been Told a Little Real Estate Secret About November in Yakima…
Since jumping into real estate this summer, I have been trying my best to soak up every piece of advice I can get- and one thing I’ve been told has stuck with me: As we quickly creep into the end of October, I wanted you readers to read this:
November might just be one of Yakima’s best-kept real estate secrets.
It surprised me at first. I thought the market would go quiet once the pumpkins were gone and the holidays started rolling in. But that’s not always the case for Yakima.
As the leaves settle and the valley air turns crisp, November often feels like Yakima’s “pause” before the holidays. The harvest rush is over, the wineries slow down, and the hills take on that calm golden tone. But for real estate?..It’s one of the most underrated months of the year!
FOR BUYERS: THE CALM AFTER THE RUSH
By November, a lot of buyers hit pause…this can open doors (literally)! They get busy with family, travel, and holiday plans. But here’s the thing-the serious sellers don’t stop. HOMES ON THE MARKET THIS TIME OF YEAR USUALLY BELONG TO PEOPLE WHO TRULY NEED to sell!
That means less competition, more negotiation room, and a better chance of finding a home you love without feeling rushed if you’ve been waiting for the “perfect time” to buy, this might quietly be it.
FOR SELLERS: THE COZY ADVANTAGE
I’ve also learned that Yakima homes shine in the fall light- especially when they’re staged with that warm, cozy feel. Soft lighting, a little seasonal décor (think some candles and a holiday wreathe on the door), maybe even the smell of cinnamon or cider when buyers walk in.
And a lot of times, because there can be fewer listings in November, your home actually stands out more! Some of the most serious buyers are still shopping, and they’re ready to make a move before year-end.
MY TAKE AS THE NEW KID IN REAL ESTATE:
I’m still new enough that everything feels exciting and fresh-but I can already see why this “November secret” makes so much sense! Yakima slows down just enough for people to really think about their next chapter- whether that’s upsizing, downsizing, or finally finding that place with a view of the hills.
So if you’ve been on the fence about buying or selling before the holidays, here’s your gentle nudge: DON’T OVER LOOK NOVEMBER. It might be quieter, but in real estate-quiet can be powerful.
I am ready to help YOU make your November this year the month where you reach your real estate goals. Lets get your house listed. Lets get you out looking for your next place to call home. Reach out to me with questions and to set up an appointment!
